Braidwood to install digital welcome signs

Braidwood is planning to implement welcome signage with digital displays at one location now and possibly at up to four additional locations in the future. The City Council approved a lease agreement with BRT Outdoor LLC for installation and operation of the digital displays, which will feature “Welcome to Braidwood” messaging.Under the agreement, BRT Outdoor will install, maintain and operate the displays on city property. The signs will be used for outdoor advertising, public service messaging, and emergency and civil defense notifications. There is no charge to the city for the electronic billboards to communicate with residents without paying for its designated advertising space, according to city documents.The city will receive at least one of every eight positions in the displays’ message rotation. Each message will run for at least 10 seconds, and the city will be able to use its allotted space for announcements about public events, facilities and services, as well as emergency
