First meeting for Somonauk Creek watershed planned for Wednesday

The first Somonauk Watershed Planning Steering Committee meeting is Wednesday afternoon at the Sandwich Public Library, and the DeKalb County Soil and Water Conservation District has encouraged the public to come share its thoughts. The meeting is from 2 to 4 p.m. so that conservation district officials can understand local water resource concerns and identify practical recommendations to protect and improve water quality throughout the watershed. The Waterman, Somonauk, Sandwich and Buck Lake areas of DeKalb County, as well as locations surrounding Lake Holiday in La Salle County, are all included in the Somonauk watershed planning area.
